Stamford had the pleasure of hosting the Singapore Chinese Orchestra for a special performance in the Reagan Theatre earlier today, their first live campus performance since 2019 and the first in Stamford’s history.
This was part of a curriculum project for our Grade 10 MYP students entitled “Cultural Music of Singapore” where students investigate the cultural makeup of Singapore and its musical heritage. Other students from the Middle and High School were also invited to join in.
The orchestra showed different sides to chinese classical music with a myriad of tunes, with conductor Moses Gay enthusiastically interacting with the crowd. There was also a Q&A section at the end for the audience to learn more.
