Lions Badminton Academy

About the Program

The Lions Badminton Academy trains throughout the academic year from August to June. The goal of the academy is to:

1) Allow students who have passion for badminton to continuously pursue the sport throughout the year

2) Allow students who miss out on being in the school competitive team to have an avenue for learning and improvement in the sport

3) Cultivate a fun and enjoyable activity for students to look forward to where they can meet friends from different grades

Within each session, small groups of up to 4 or 5 students will be lead by a coach. This will allow students to have more attention from the coach and the training program will be tailored to the needs of each individual student.

The Coaching Team

The coaching team is led by Scott Ng who is also the coach for the Stamford School team. He has been coaching with Stamford since 2016 overseeing students from grade 1 to grade 12 in various settings. All in all, Scott has more than 15 years of coaching experience.

In his competitive stint, Scott has represented Singapore in various varsity competitions such as the World University Games and Asean University Games. He has also achieved several team and individual accolades.

Besides Scott, the coaching team is made up of coaches with vast local and international competitive experience. With over 40 years of combined coaching experience, every student in the academy will have a fulfilling experience interacting and learning from them.

Training Schedule

The Lions Badminton Academy conducts training from 7-9pm on Tuesday and Thursday during the season.

Our sessions are conducted at Stamford Arena (B2 level of the Secondary Campus).

Registration is per season, with approximately 12 sessions per season.  We will try to accommodate schedules conflicts and will do our best to arrange make-up classes to ensure that students get to attend all lessons in a particular season.
