Stamford American International School proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2024 in the International Baccalaureate (IB), College Board Advanced Placement (AP), and BTEC examinations. The results reaffirm Stamford American’s commitment to holistic education and inclusion, demonstrating that a well-rounded approach can go hand-in-hand with exceptional academic performance in globally recognized assessments.
By offering students the choice between the IB Diploma and AP programs, Stamford American empowers them to forge their own unique futures. We extend our congratulations to all students who embraced the challenge of these courses, regardless of the result. After all, the College Board emphasizes that “evidence shows that AP students who earn scores of 2 on their AP Exams have significantly stronger college outcomes than similar students who did not take an AP course and exam.”
The 2024 results not only reflected improvement from the previous year but also surpassed global averages. Our IB Diploma cohort achieved an impressive 96% pass rate (compared to the global average of 80%) with an average score of 34.6, exceeding the global mean of 30.32. This cohort also undertook more IB exams than any previous year, and in nearly half of those exams, students earned an impressive score of 6 or higher. Consequently, it is no surprise that our mean exam score of 5.45 significantly outperformed this year’s global mean.
