WHEN DOES THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGIN AND END?

The school year runs from August to June at Stamford American International School.

WHAT GRADES ARE TAUGHT AT STAMFORD AMERICAN?

Stamford American caters to students from 2 months to 18 years old (Infant Care – Grade 12).

WHAT CURRICULUM IS TAUGHT AT STAMFORD AMERICAN?

Stamford American offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programe integrated with American curricula and standards from 18 months to 18 years old.

Stamford American International School offers two pathways: the IB Diploma Programme or a personalized option that lets students combine AP, IB, BTEC, and Stamford courses to match their educational preferences and career goals. All students also graduate with a U.S.-accredited Stamford High School Diploma.

These frameworks combine the best of American and international curricula for a responsive, well-rounded education. The American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards ensure vertically aligned learning within disciplines, while the IB Programme encourages students to be inquirers, engaging in both disciplinary and interdisciplinary learning to personalize their education.

WHAT LANGUAGES ARE TAUGHT AT STAMFORD AMERICAN?

At Stamford American, students in the Early Learning Village and Elementary School can opt for daily Mandarin or Spanish instruction, with lessons becoming more intensive in Middle and High School through 80-minute sessions every other day.

The Bilingual Program, available for Pre-K to Grade 5, provides equal exposure to English and Mandarin through a one-bilingual-teacher model, allowing students to immerse in both languages.

Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) program integrates students into mainstream classrooms with support from EAL experts, helping them achieve English proficiency to engage academically, socially, and culturally with their peers.

WHAT SPECIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS?

The Student Support Department at Stamford American offers a helping hand to all students in managing any academic, emotional, physical or developmental challenges that come their way.

WHAT SPECIALIST CLASSES ARE PROVIDED?

Our specialist programs mainly focuses on our Athletic programs, and The Arts (music, visual ,performing arts).

WHEN SHOULD STUDENTS APPLY?

Stamford American offers rolling admission. If places are available, students can join the school at any time throughout the year.

WHAT TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS?

Students may also choose to take the MRT (train), public buses or parents may drive and drop their children off at school.

WHAT EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

Stamford has an extensive Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) Program offered from as young as Pre-Kindergarten all the way to Grade 12 with over 350 choices to choose from. We believe in helping students to develop passions at a young age.
